Conducting a School Science Fair
Science
Fairs:
►Are
events during which students report and display information they
have gathered by using the scientific method.
►Provide
evidence of a school’s commitment to science education and the
relevance of science to our daily lives.
►Create
partnerships between parents, business leaders, and schools. Parents
who offer guidance as their children prepare their projects become
more actively involved with their child’s education. Business
leaders asked to be judges or who offer financial support for a
science fair build stronger ties between the schools and the
community.
►Provide
opportunities for students to apply their science process skills and
critical thinking, and to learn about science and how scientists
work. Science projects are also an important part of
“performance assessment” and can be used as a portfolio type
assessment to assess student knowledge and ability to apply concepts
learned.
Organization

as organized and uncomplicated as possible!
